Frances Ryan is a Dublin-based contemporary artist. Graduating as a mature student in Fine Art from IADT in 1997, she has since exhibited in Ireland and the UK, with her most recent solo exhibition "A Meditation on Birds" taking place at the Ballinglen Arts Foundation in 2024.

Her art is held in public collections including the Office of Public Works (OPW) State Art Collection, the AIB Art Collection, the Ballinglen Foundation Archive, The Department of Finance (Northern Ireland) and the Arts Council of Northern Ireland.

Currently working from MART Studios in Dublin, her evocotavie, nature-inspired works blend painting, collage, photography and printmaking.

Ryan's practice explores themes of ephemerality, fragility and resiliance in relation to the natural world and marvels at how daily encounters with her immediate environment can provide the impetus to create work where memory and emotion converge. Further details here.
